SANTA ANA, Calif. — High Performance Systems, LLC (HPS), the specialist in high-end supercharger systems for Mercedes-Benz automobiles, has just announced that they will be dramatically reducing prices on systems designed for 1998-2002 vehicles. Prices will be cut by thousands of dollars, and will begin at $4,999 as the company prepares to launch its all-new second-generation system. Discount prices will remain in effect only while supplies last.
"Business has been good, but we want to entice even more Mercedes-Benz owners to become a part of the HPS family," said Adam Follman, vice president of sales and marketing. "Sometimes that means slashing prices, but make no mistake about it, this is no 'Bluelight Special.' We haven't cut any corners or watered anything down. The supercharger systems on sale are complete in every way, with all the same high-quality components we've been using all along."
The HPS supercharger system uses a Roots-type compressor that maximizes supercharger power and efficiency. Roots-type superchargers produce high output at low levels of boost, and at low engine speeds, to eliminate supercharger lag. This also increases engine torque and horsepower throughout the entire engine speed range to redline. A proprietary mechanical and digital computerized fuel management control system is included to optimize engine performance, and flawlessly interfaces with the OEM computer systems.
All HPS system components meet or exceed Mercedes-Benz's own high standards. Factory appearance and quality, high reliability, and quiet operation - all are hallmarks of HPS engineering.
The company currently produces supercharger applications for the C43, E430, E430 4-Matic, E55, CLK430, CLK55, ML430, ML55, and ML500. Customers can expect gains of around 100 horsepower from the systems with torque to match.
